WELCOME
TO BREVOORT PARK SCHOOL
Happy New (School) Year!
We are looking forward to an exciting year of learning, READING and
growing together at Brevoort Park School. As
we continue with the focus on JUST READ,
we hope you will join us in encouraging your child(ren) to set personal goals
for reading. Reading Logs are due at the end of each week, usually on a Friday.
On behalf of our entire staff we welcome back all students and families
returning to our school! In
addition, we extend a special welcome to our new students and families joining
our school. We look forward to
working and learning with all of you throughout the coming school year.
We provide this school handbook so that you can become familiar with our
expectations and procedures. It contains a wealth of valuable information about our school
and school division. If, however,
you have any questions, please call us at 683-7110.
We have provided monthly calendars to help you plan ahead.
Our school newsletter goes home every second Wednesday with the youngest
or only child from your family attending Brevoort Park School.
It will outline other dates and activities for you to add to your monthly
school calendars. We encourage you
to have your child(ren) assist you with this so that they may benefit by being
aware of upcoming events.
Our main goal is the academic development of each student.
Our staff works hard to ensure your child is given the necessary tools
for lifelong learning in literacy, numeracy, and critical and creative thinking.
We also encourage students in a wide variety of educational experiences,
both curricular and extra curricular. We
invite students to step forward and join in our many and varied extra curricular
experiences.
We also extend an open invitation for parents/guardians to volunteer and become
involved in the life of the school. We
want to utilize parental expertise and enthusiasm to enhance student learning.
Parent volunteers are our treasured resources! School culture is positive and rich when parents/guardians
are integral to school operations. In
addition to supporting our classrooms and L.R.C. on a regular (or occasional)
basis, parents/guardians are invited to attend Home and School monthly meetings.
Together
– the school, the home and the community – we can collaborate to
ensure
