Students learn how to create computer programs and interactive web pages with multimedia components in widely accepted industry languages, administer databases, and install and manage local area networks. CST graduates are well prepared to excel in the challenging and rewarding field of computers. There are great job opportunities and excellent starting wages in this growing field (starting wages as high as $49,000/year). There is an anticipated Canadian labor shortage of 89,000 computer jobs within the next 5 years and we would like to help address this by encouraging more students to find about the CST program. The CST program promotes use of leading edge technology and continually ensures that new technologies that are desirable in industry are included in the program. Workstations in the CST program labs are available for each student during all CST classes. The workstations in every lab are replaced every two years so computers are always up-to- date. All Evan Hardy students are invited to attend any given Monday that school is in session. Many Greystone Scholars with senior Math and Science proficiencies have volunteered, embodying the reality that the diverse tutoring needs of our EHC learning community can be met. We ask that students sign up in Student Services each week before Friday so that we can then forward a head count to the Greystone Scholars so that they know how many university students to send for the Monday session.
