Internet

Mount Royal Library is open throughout the school day from 8:00a.m. to 4p.m. except on Thursdays (alternate days) when it closes at 1:05 p.m. Students come to the library both with classes and on their own to do research or homework, read, study and use network computer programs or the Internet.

The library has books, magazines, videos, clippings and computer resources for classes taught at Mount Royal as well as for personal interest.

Most materials may be borrowed for two weeks and renewed if necessary. Students use their student card to borrow materials and are responsible for all items taken out on their card. Students may not sign out materials for others. (Please note that lost cards should be reported immediately to the main office and to the library and that replacement student cards are available from Mr. Hoffman in Room 234 for a nominal fee.) Those with overdue items may not borrow additional materials until the overdues have been returned, renewed or paid for.

Who Are We

The Mount Royal Child Care centre is operated by Saskatoon Child Care Services, a non-profit community organization. Our daycare, located in Mount Royal Collegiate, was the first child care centre in the province to open in a high school. We have grown from a 10 infant care centre to a 22 space infant and toddler program.

Did you know

Our Response

The Mount Royal Child care centre was established in 1988 to help teen parents in their effort to earn a high school education. We realize affordable and readily accessible child care in a school setting makes it possible for young parents to be more successful.

To prevent a serious disruption of educational process, a baby is welcomed into the daycare as soon as the parent is ready to return to school.

In our centre we provide a supportive environment for parents and their children.

Our Success

An independent research study of the Mount Royal Child Care Centre found a positive relationship between our daycare use and school achievement.
