Nutana Collegiate is proud to be a leader and innovator in career development initiatives for youth. This priority has been long established at Nutana and has resulted in our designation as the first CATT (Canadian Academy of Travel and Tourism) Gold School in Saskatchewan and our own two academies: Academy of Tourism; Academy of Career and Experiential Learning. We have staff in career facilitation roles throughout the entire school year who promote career fairs, visits to post-secondary facilities, work placements, volunteer opportunities, apprenticeship exploration and paid employment positions.
Partnerships with community agencies strengthen the career pathways that are available to students at Nutana. A full time career and employment consultant from CanSask works at Nutana Collegiate. The school division’s IDA (Individual Development Accounts) Program has its home and coordinator at Nutana. A new iJob program started in the fall of 2007 offers transition programming to students who need something different than a traditional high school credit program. iJob is funded in cooperation with the Saskatchewan Ministries of Education, Advanced Education, Employment and Labour and Social Services. Students at our school also benefit from frequent programs offered by STEC (Saskatchewan Tourism Education Council).
These are only a few of the highlights of the career pathways offered at Nutana Collegiate. Come visit us to find out more!

This is a new and innovative program that will support youth to be successful in making the school to work transition. |
Wildlife Management Wildlife Management 20/30 offers a number of opportunities for students interested in careers in this field. Three trips to Prince Albert National Park are part of the course and each features a chance to meet park employees from different areas. The class also visits wildlife conservation areas and agencies and hosts guest speakers with the opportunity to ask career related questions. |
