  Drama        

The Nutana Drama Program offers three levels of drama; Drama 10, Drama 20 and Drama 30.  In all three drama levels the students develop improvisational skills, learn to monologue, dialogue, get into character and at the conclusion of the term develop a theatrical play where they learn lines, create a set design and costume their characters.  We then take the play that we’ve developed to a number of elementary schools to perform for younger kids.  We also have a mentorship program going into its fifth year.  We have partnered with Victoria School where the students of Nutana serve as role models for the younger kids and teach them drama and life skills.  It’s always a highlight for the students every term because of the strong relational connections.  Finally, every second year we take our third quarter drama class to a regional drama festival.  The students have competed very well in the last couple of years and have won numerous awards including the top acting awards.  Nutana’s drama program is an exciting introduction to acting and theatre and a school experience unlike any other.
