Which grade level courses can I take at Royal West?
The courses at Royal West are all Grade 12 - 30
level credits with the exception of Math 20 and Math 21 and Physics 20.
What is the age requirement to attend Royal West?
Students must be 18 years of
age or older.
Can I take my GED at Royal West?
Royal West does not offer a GED course. You may, however, take the Grade
12 Adult

Royal West
does not offer classes through correspondence but an independent study class may
suit your needs.
Do you offer evening classes?
Royal West is offering evening classes for the 2010-2011 school
year. English A30 and B30 as well as Math A30 and Chemistry 30 in
both semesters.

How long are the courses at Royal West?
Royal West
runs on the semester system. Students enrolled in daytime individualized
instruction classes work
at their own pace and may complete their classes before semester end.

What does it cost to attend Royal West?
Students who are 22
years of age before the beginning of the school year are required to pay a fee of $300
per course payable to the Saskatoon Public School Division.

What is Adult 12?
An adult
may obtain grade 12 standing with a minimum of seven credits without having completed previous grades. Who is
eligible?
1) An adult, as defined in the Education Act, means a person who is at
least 18 years
of age and who has been out of school for at least one year.
2) The out of
school for at least one year is waived when the student is 19 and has the
permission of the administrator to enter the program.
What
courses do I take?
Students may take courses at the regular level, the modified level or a
combination of both.
However, students must be aware that a Grade 12 standing with modified classes has
limitations in terms of entrance to University and technical programs.
Your
Seven Credit Requirements:
English 30A or 31A, English 30B or 31B, History 30 or 31 or Native Studies 30, one level
20 or level 30 mathematics, one level 20 or level 30 science, two level 30 electives
(possible 30 level
electives: Economics, Law, Psychology, Phys. Ed., General Art,
Entrepreneurship, Family Life, Housing/Int Design, Welding, Work Education). Note that some
of the elective
courses may only be taken at Mount Royal Collegiate.
